The DiMAGE Xt is truly a "shirt-pocket" camera, measuring only 3.4(W) x 2.6(H) x 0.8(D) inches and weighing a mere 4.2 ounces. The DiMAGE Xt is so easy to carry; you won't know its there until you need it. The DiMAGE Xt features the world's fastest start-up time of any digital camera with an optical zoom lens (1.1 seconds), Minolta's CxProcess image-processing technology, Minolta's exclusive folded optical zoom system with a 3x optical zoom lens, 4x digital zoom and an even smaller and thinner camera body than the Award-Winning DiMAGE Xi.

The Minolta DiMAGE Xt can also be used as a remote camera for video conferencing, and it supports Epson USB DIRECT-PRINT - this allows images to be printed directly from the camera to a compatible printer using the supplied USB cable.

The DiMAGE Xt's controls have been designed for comfort and enhanced ease of use. The main power switch has been positioned to avoid turning the camera on or off accidentally, while the inclusion of a mode dial makes selecting the camera's recording, playback, and setup modes simple. A Quick View button allows images on the memory card to be accessed from the recording modes after they have been captured, and the controller incorporates the enter button to make setting functions and navigating the menu options easy.

• Multi-Segment and Spot Metering
  The DiMAGE Xt's advanced multi-segment metering evaluates subject and scene brightness and continuously monitors the situation for even the slightest changes. The camera uses information about subject location from the AF system along with 256 metering segments to calculate the optimum exposure based on subject and background brightness. There is no need to worry that the subject will be lost in deep shadows or washed out in front of dark backgrounds. Additionally, the built-in flash is activated automatically in backlit or low-light conditions. For basing the exposure on a small area of the subject or scene, the spot metering mode concentrates the exposure reading to the area covered by the spot AF sensor.
• Extended Shutter Speed Range and Noise Reduction
  The DiMAGE Xt's extended shutter speed range gives the camera greater control over exposure in difficult lighting conditions. The camera can control the exposure from 4 seconds for scenes at night to 1/1000 of a second for brilliant sunlit landscapes. The DiMAGE Xt combats Dark noise (a grainy or sandy appearance to digital images taken with long exposures) with user-selectable noise reduction, which automatically activates for exposures of one second or longer.
• Remote Camera Operation
  The DiMAGE Xt can be used as a remote camera for video conferencing. Simply use the supplied USB cable to connect the camera to a computer with a Windows operating system and a compatible application such as Microsoft Windows Messenger. The camera can be mounted on a tripod or placed in the included charger stand for hands-free operation.
• Charger/Stand Included
  The DiMAGE Xt's charger stand can recharge the battery while it is still in the camera. It can also charge a single spare battery by itself. The charger doubles as a camera stand for when the DiMAGE Xt is used for self-portraits, a remote camera, or when connected to a computer.
• Extended Movie and Audio Recording
  The DiMAGE Xt is a versatile multimedia tool, allowing digital video with audio to be captured. The length of the movie is limited only by the memory card capacity and image size (160 x 120 or 320 x 240). You can also record a 15-second voice memo immediately after capturing a still image, or attach up to 15 seconds of audio caption to a previously recorded still image. Plus, up to 180 minutes of audio without image data can be recorded.
• E-Mail Copy Function
  The DiMAGE Xt's e-mail copy function makes a 640x480 or 160x120 JPEG copy of an image on the memory card so that it can be easily transferred over the Internet.
• USB Direct-Print
  This very convenient function allows images to be printed directly from the camera to a compatible printer using the supplied USB cable.
• Optional Waterproof Marine Case
