Introducing the PowerShot S30: a
sophisticated collaboration of modern design and state-of-the-art technology
that delivers astonishing resolution and brilliant color, and more fun per
square inch of camera than you've ever known! With PowerShot S30's
1/1.8-inch 3.2-megapixel CCD, you can create postcard size images so densely
detailed, the pixilation is undetectable to the human eye.
The primary color filter captures all the luminescence of a complimentary
color filter with true, radiant color reproduction, thanks to re-engineered
digital signal processing. Just 4.4" long and under 1.5" thin, PowerShot S30
is one of the most compact of all 3 to 4-megapixel cameras with a 3x optical
zoom lens , a sliding capsule lens cover and sleek, subtly colored aluminum
casing make a definitive design statement.
You'll marvel at the speed and utter clarity with which the genuine Canon 3x
optical zoom lens (equivalent to 35 to 105mm for a 35mm camera) moves in on
your subject. Then, zoom in even closer, smoothly all the way up to 10x in
the S30 using the digital zoom.
Automatic focus intelligently selects and focuses your subject, but with
PowerShot S30, you can also choose one of three focal points manually -
right from the multi-controller, located on the back of the camera behind
the shutter button. Now you can focus on an offcenter subject and shoot
right away without recomposing the shot.
PowerShot S30 offers you a whole new way to caption your images: voice memos
up to a minute long! While viewing each shot in replay mode, simply record
your comments to add a unique new dimension to photographic memories. Using
the My Camera function and supplied Solution CD, you can choose the look of
your camera's start-up screen and the sounds it makes for start-up, shutter,
self-timer and other operations. You can even use sounds you digitally
record yourself your pet, a friend's voice or your favorite music.
A new multi-controller replaces cross buttons for a highly intuitive
operating experience that will make you feel comfortable with the camera's
features right away. And the innovative lens cover slides to switch
instantly between shooting, playback and power off modes.
Six high- precision white balance presets correspond to sunny, cloudy,
tungsten, fluorescent, fluorescent H and flash conditions. You can even
create a customized white balance manually.
Automatic Exposure Bracketing captures 3 images: one each at, under and over
the normal setting, so you can choose the exposure you like best after the
shot is taken. Or lock in ideal auto exposure and flash settings before you
shoot with AE Lock and FE Lock. Familiar, film-based ISO-equivalent settings
let you adjust exposure sensitivity easily to Auto, ISO 50, 100, 200, or
400, and with PowerShot S30, ISO 800 a feature rarely found in its class. |
